Welcome to
~ Above All Else ~
Bringing you hope in the mundane, messy, and magnificent seasons of life
My mission is to bring you encouragement and offer hope in God, right where you are – whether the tapestry of your life appears mundane, messy, or perhaps even magnificent.
Join me as I weave devotionals and short stories from the colorful fibers of my life experiences, including years as a missionary’s kid (MK) in Nigeria, a home school mom in California, and a recent breast cancer survivor.
Many of my essays describe life as a TCK (Third Culture Kid). TCKs often feel we don’t fully relate to either our host country or our parents’ home country. As a result, we form our own style of living, called a third culture, which includes a unique set of joys and trials. You can read more in my About page.
Do you have trouble making peace with your past? I can relate, because of the loneliness and losses I experienced at boarding school, separated from home and family.
As a result of the healing I’ve found through God’s promises, I’m discovering new hope in every day. As we travel together through this blog, you and I will learn how we can trust God’s loving sovereignty above all else.
