Hello from the Warren Family
We hope you and your loved ones had a good year in 2021 and were able to renew many of your “normal” activities. Though we’ve adapted to the changes brought on by Covid, most of us continue to have challenges of one sort or another. Please let me know how I can be praying for you.
While reading my stories and devotions, have you ever wondered who I am and what I do? Well, a big part of my life is my family. This month, I’d like to introduce you to my husband, Chris, and our young-adult kids.
Here are the highlights from our year:
Robby (25 years old) – Graduated December 2020 with degrees in Economics and Statistics
- Works part-time in the golf shop at Metropolitan Golf Links, near Oakland Airport
- Enjoys playing in monthly golf club tournaments at Metropolitan Golf Links (won for the first time in July!)
- Diligently applying online for full-time positions related to his degrees in Economics and Statistics
- Hoping the job search is fruitful this year!
Heather (29 years) – Enjoyed another year with her boyfriend, Aaron, with more opportunities to meet and get to know each other’s family and friends that were missed in 2020
- Performed in two in-person productions and one virtual production
- Completed year six at her property management job, grateful to remain employed throughout the pandemic
- Choreographed her first full-length production, High School Musical: On Stage with CYT Tri-Valley! Challenging, thrilling, and ready for more!
- Next up: The Lightning Thief (choreographer, CYT Tri-Valley, March 3-6), and Damn Yankees (Sister/ensemble, Tri-Valley Repertory Theatre, April 30-May 15)
Andrew & Sarah (32 & 35) – Had their dream wedding reception on their one-year anniversary
- Surrounded by family and friends in the Santa Cruz mountains for their 2021 #idoredo, the happy couple refused to let torrential rain and strong winds dampen their amazing day!
- Excited to plan their honeymoon for later in 2022
- Andrew had a couple of top 10 placements in golf tournaments this year!
- Both still working from home and aren’t sick of each other yet 😊
Debbie – Works part-time as an admin for an online memoir-writing group
- Through her blog, enjoys connecting with and encouraging other adult missionary kids (AMKs) who had a difficult time at boarding school
- Entered a challenge to complete the rough draft of her memoir in one year
- Enjoyed hosting five backyard teas for neighbors, friends, and family once things opened again
Chris – Celebrated his 20th year flying with Bechtel Corporation
- Glad flight schedule is back to normal and is flying 10-15 days/month.
- Refereeing soccer and umpiring baseball busier than ever, since approximately 40% of officials quit or retired due to the pandemic.
- Still loves to golf with Robby and caddy for Andrew whenever he can
- Happy to be back teaching 4th and 5th grade Sunday school at our Castro Valley First Baptist Church
I’d love to hear from you. Please share a “comment” at the bottom of this post, and let me know what’s going on in your world. I promise I’ll reply right away, even though I’ve been a little tardy in my replies in the past. Sorry about that!

What a beautiful family you have, Debbie! We will always remember you and Chris as the worship leaders at EHCC, young and newly weds at the time.
Thank you so much! What great memories! I’m glad you shared this comment. I can’t see your name, so I’m trying to guess who this is, but I know it’s a great friend from EHCC xoxo
Have been reading some missionary biographies/ listening to audio sermon clips and Chr music. For 2022 I NEED to accept His unconditional LORDSHIP/ Guidance over my life. Someone said- Jesus isn’t truly your Savior until He is LORD in your life! Please pray for my soul. I struggle daily with various ”issues” that just seem to increase as I age ! Thanks Debbie for this ”forum” to respond to your stories and ”muse” about our past/ future hopes etc. May God continue to BLESS you. David in Chad Africa
David, I can relate to the issues increasing I we get older! Yes, we need to accept His unconditional Lordship and it’s so great to have his unending Guidance. I’m praying for your soul and your body as you continue to serve and minister in Chad.
You’re just about as sweet as they come, Debbie! So good to hear from you!
Thank you so much, Cathy! It’s a good thing I only shared the cleaned-up version of my life, or I might not get called Sweet haha
Hi Debbie – I always enjoyed your stories. It was so great to hear from your and the family doing so well. I know it’s been a long time, hopefully I will get to see soon.
Thank you so much! I hope I get to see you soon, too! (Unfortunately, I can’t see your name in this comment, but you must be a good friend or neighbor!)
I enjoyed reading about your family! I’ve known you for a long time, and so this was a fun read. Blessings to you, my friend!
Robby, it’s been great to connect with you over the years and learn a little about each other. Meeting you in Jon Drury’s Christian Writers Group was such a blessing!
Great post again! Love seeing the family.
Thank you so much! It was great to celebrate with you at El Rincon in Reedley and then back at my mom’s apartment for Christmas!
We enjoyed it so much. It was especially nice to visit with Andrew and Walt loved singing Christmas Carols with everyone! So glad that we could get together.
Yes, it was wonderful to hear Walt singing the hymns so perfectly!
I have enjoyed your posts. It is good to know your family better.
We are praying the snow melts from around the house. Walking to the car is dangerous, but God has protected us from falls so far.
It’s so fun to connect with you here, Grace. That sounds like too much snow! I’ll be praying God continues to protect you and your family members from falls.
Love your stories and encouragement. Glad to hear you are all prospering in this crazy time. We are all well and thriving. Praise God!!
Sheryl, I’m so glad to hear this! Every time I drive by your house, I say a little prayer for your beautiful family.
